Following the establishment of the Association of Calligraphers of India the first Nastaliq calligraphy training course started with the presence of twelve people interested in the art of calligraphy in Iran Culture House, New Delhi. In this three-month course, which is held with the joint cooperation of the Indian Calligraphers Association and the Consultancy, two sessions a week, the students get to know Nastaliq calligraphy. This course is taught by one of the professors and members of the Indian Calligraphers Association. At the end of the course, the will be given to the participants. In addition to Delhi, calligraphy training courses will soon be held by the association in some other states, including Hyderabad, Bangalore and Jharkhand.
In the opening ceremony of the first calligraphy course of Anjuman Khatatan Hind Dr. Ali Rabbani the Cultural Counselor of Iran in New Delhi explaned about the capabilities and functions of the art of calligraphy, especially the Iranian Nastaliq calligraphy, and expressed his hope that the students would be able to complete the stages of learning perfection by completing various calligraphy training courses. Having experienced this authentic Iranian art, they can take a constructive role in preserving and expanding this common cultural heritage of Iran and India by traveling to Iran and taking advanced courses.
