 In order to participate and seriously participate in international events in the audience, the Cultural Consultation of our country in Nigeria presented the initiative of proposing to hold an Asian film festival in 2017 to the Asian countries active in Nigeria, which will be held in Nigeria with more strength and scope after the agreement of the major Asian countries since that year. In this regard, by the power of God, the sixth The Asian Film Festival in Abuja was held in Abuja.

 Mr. Mir Yousefi, the Honorable Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of our country, in the opening ceremony of this international event at the site of the China Cultural Center in Abuja, while appreciating and thanking all the countries participating in this international event, referred to the history of the successful holding of this international event and called for joint programs, including in the field of medical tourism, festivals and conferences of Asian nations. Lebanon and Syria, which have always had a constant presence in this festival, condemned the brutal crimes of the Zionist regime in the Middle East, especially in these countries.

Mr. Majid Kamrani, our country's cultural advisor in Nigeria, announced that the secretariat of the 6th Asian Film Festival officially started its work at the end of August this year. This secretariat held five joint meetings with the presence of representatives of the embassy at the cultural consultation site of our country, as well as China, Turkey and India, and made the preparations for holding this important event.

Iran, China, Turkey, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Nigeria participated in the 6th Asian Film Festival, and Vietnam participated in this festival for the first time, which is a sign of new interactions and approaches in this field.

Ambassadors and representatives of Iran, India, Turkey, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam and the Chairman of the Culture and Arts Council of Nigeria also delivered speeches on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria at the opening ceremony of this Asian festival and announced their readiness to hold other joint programs in Asia.

The festival  will continue for 5 days from  November 27 at the Chinese Cultural Center, and on the opening day, the films of Iran and South Korea were screened, and the rest of the films will be screened in this center from the second day.

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran  has participated in the  6th Asian Film Festival with the film "At Dinner Time". This film, directed  by Ebrahim Hatami Kia, is present in this period as the representative of Iranian cinema in the festival.  Iran has  always  been one of the main victims of terrorism in the region, and over the years, it has paid a heavy price for the fight against terrorist groups. The film "At Dinner Time" directed by Ebrahim Hatami Kia  is one of the works that depicts a part of these efforts and sacrifices.

It is worth mentioning that on the sidelines of the festival, our country's cultural advisor spoke to Radio Nigeria about the primary goals of this festival as the founder of this international event in Nigeria. Mr. Kamrani, the cultural advisor of our country, announced in this interview that recognizing the capacities of the creative industry of countries, especially Nigeria, and creating interaction with each other is one of the primary goals of this cultural and artistic event, and considered Nigeria to be the best country for this purpose, and since this country participates in the festival as a special guest, it can play a good relationship to realize this important . In addition, the cultural advisor of our country also referred to the good cultural relations between the two countries of Iran and Nigeria, and mentioned the presence of a large number of Nigerian students in Iran as one of the prominent examples of this cooperation.
