Indian institute honors Iranian scholar Mohammadreza Nasiri

Iranian scholar and historian Mohammadreza Nasiri was honored for his lifetime achievements during a ceremony at the Ghalib Institute in New Delhi on Monday.

He has done research and authored several books on history and culture during his lifetime. The ceremony began with reading the message of the director of the Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature Qolam-Ali Haddad-Adel.

“Undoubtedly a large portion of Indian history has been written in Persian and while the authentic original manuscripts cannot be recovered and published, the history of this country must not be understood,” Haddad-Adel mentioned in a part of the message.

The ceremony was held by the Indian professors, scholars and historians to pay tribute to the achievements of Nasiri, Iran’s cultural attaché to India Mohammadreza Nasiri told the Persian service of IRNA.

His writing and corrections of books on the history of India boost the relations between two countries, he added.

At the ceremony, his book entitled “The History of Angel” on the general history of India was also unveiled.

Nasiri got his Ph.D. in history from the University of Istanbul and was the first director of the Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature
