Religious dialogue between Iran and Kenya; "The truest path of mankind is to know and accept each other" 

In continuation of the series of cultural Council meetings with Kenya's scientific, cultural, religious and artistic groups, 50 members of the Kibera Catholic Church in Nairobi visited Iran Cultural Centre with the aim of getting to know the cultural Council activities, as well as the to have dialogue between Catholics and Muslims and the misconceptions the Christians have about Islam.

 Dr. Ali Pourmarjan, the Cultural adviser in Nairobi, expressed some points about the commonalities between Islam and Christianity and said: The mission of followers of monotheistic religions, especially Christians and Muslims, is to know each other, away from arguing and insulting each other. By knowing each other, Christians and Muslims will become true servants of God and the creator of the world, and this is an undeniable necessity for all followers of divine religions today.

He stated that for a Muslim, all monotheistic and Abrahamic religions are respectable, he said: the first and truest way to reach the ideal state is knowing and accepting each other, as well as honest and transparent dialogue for joint cooperation, which is more than ever before.

 He clarified: Iran has long been a model for peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions, and Christians live peacefully alongside Jews, Zoroastrians, and Muslims and understand each other well.

Observance of the religious rights of religious minorities is emphasized in the constitution of Iran, but unfortunately, in some countries, contrary to the truth, they put forward incorrect content that deserves reflection.

Dr. Pourmarjan continued: Christians and Muslims can move towards a constructive dialogue with each other; A dialogue that goes beyond the controversial nature of Muslim-Christian relations. If we want to ignore the basic human needs, we can not enter into the dialogue, but we all know that today's human needs are the concern of all humanity. He went on to say: Dialogue between Christianity and Islam is a dialogue that, at the peak of commitment, can lead us to common monotheistic traditions. Fortunately, Iran has held several rounds of these meetings with the Vatican, which have been very successful, and we hope to have bilateral meetings and productive and scientific discussions with the Catholic Church of Kenya in the coming months, for which fortunately the first steps have been taken.
