The Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai proudly announces the successful completion of four enriching autumn terms of Persian language and literature courses. These courses, organized in collaboration with esteemed educational institutions across Western and Southern India, aimed to promote the Persian language as a vital part of India’s classical heritage.
Over the past months, dedicated instructors and cultural coordinators have worked tirelessly to deliver high-quality education to students at various levels, from beginner to pre-intermediate. Notably, the Maulana Azad College in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, hosted two online courses, where 25 enthusiastic learners engaged with the educational materials "Gham-e Aval" and "Mina Aval," published by the Saadi Foundation in Iran. Under the guidance of the talented instructors Ms. Itret Zahra Omatia and Ms. Imameh Dalvi, 18 students successfully passed their final assessments in February, marking a significant achievement in their language learning journey.
In addition, two in-person courses were conducted at the Iran Consulate in Hyderabad, attracting 37 participants eager to delve into the beauty of the Persian language. Led by the experienced Ms. Shabnam Radman, these classes utilized the engaging texts "Tooti" and "Mina Aval." The results were impressive, with 26 students excelling in their final exams. Throughout the courses, Ms. Radman enriched the learning experience by sharing insights into Iranian culture, historical monuments, and the shared cultural and linguistic ties between Iran and India, captivating the participants and deepening their appreciation for the language.
This year, a total of eleven Persian language and literature classes were successfully completed across Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, and Hyderabad. With the recent addition of the four courses in Aurangabad and Hyderabad, the demand for Persian language education in Western and Southern India has reached new heights. The enthusiasm from other centers and individuals seeking to learn Persian is a testament to the growing interest in this classical language.
As we look forward to the upcoming year, we are hopeful for the opportunity to meet this rising demand and continue fostering a love for Persian language and literature among students in India. The Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to promoting cultural exchange and education, paving the way for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the rich heritage shared between our two nations.
