Meeting with Sheikh Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria

On the occasion of the birthday of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS) held an intimate meeting with Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, on the occasion of this auspicious day.

 

The meeting was held at 10 a.m. in the presence of Mr. Mir Yousefi, the Honorable Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Abuja, Mr. Majid Kamrani, the Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Abuja, Mr. Farshad Begian, the expert of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization sent to this country, and a number of advisors and officials of this office at the residence of this eminent figure in the city of Abuja.

In this meeting, Mr. Mir Yousefi, the Honorable Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Abuja, while congratulating the birthday of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS) and accepting the prayers and prayers of him and the Shiites of Nigeria, wished him good health and a long and dignified life and announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always sought to strengthen friendly relations with Nigeria and to strengthen the scientific and religious foundations of the Shiites under the wise leadership of His Holiness and its support. will continue on this basis.

Mr. Majid Kamrani, the cultural advisor of our country in Nigeria, considered this meeting as an unattainable and lasting opportunity for our country's cultural consultation to benefit from the guidance of the great leader of the Shiites of Nigeria and Africa, and then presented a short report on the joint cultural activities during the past three years. Publication of 8 books in the field of resistance and rich Shiite culture, as well as 12 short courses in Islamic studies in cooperation with scientific and academic centers, especially Baqir al-Uloom University of Qom, and very close cooperation in the field of Quranic affairs and the training of specialized human resources to empower different strata of Shiites have been examples of good cooperation during this period, and the establishment of a branch of Al-Mustafa University in Abuja and the establishment of an Iranian clinic in Abuja, as well as the completion of the construction of the Iranian Hospital, the holding of a conference with the position of interfaith dialogue in cooperation with the University of Abuja and the Islamic Movement, and the consultation of the Embassy of our country, are among the current plans of Islamic Iran in order to develop and expand these cooperations.

 

Mr. Farshad Bagian, the expert of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, who was also present in this meeting, while congratulating the holy month of Ramadan to His Holiness, praised and thanked everyone, especially his advisor for scientific and cultural affairs, for this meeting and said that every Muslim receives a great reward from God Almighty at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and our meeting today with His Holiness is a great reward and gift from God in this trip for I hope that these close cultural consultations with the Islamic Movement will continue in order to fulfill the wishes of the Supreme Leader _{in  the} declaration of the second step of the Islamic Revolution.

Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Shiites of Nigeria, while appreciating and thanking the presence of the Iranian delegation from our country's embassy in Abuja, congratulated the audience on the birthday of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS) and gave instructions in this regard. Ayatollah Khamenei considered the active presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the political, cultural and economic spheres in Nigeria very important and emphasized the strengthening of non-governmental cooperation and called for the establishment of more contacts between different segments of the Iranian people with the Nigerian people. In order to achieve the goals of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the establishment of a new Islamic civilization, material and spiritual investments should be focused on the training of skilled human resources at all levels, especially at the level of schools, and fixed and purposeful positions should be focused for this purpose in Nigeria as in some other countries.

 

 The meeting was held in an intimate and spiritual atmosphere and provided a valuable opportunity to discuss various issues of the Islamic world, Muslim unity, and the challenges facing Shia communities. Various topics were discussed, including the situation of Shiites in Nigeria, the cultural and social effects of Islam on the African continent, and the role of religious scholars in guiding societies.
