MINUTES MEETING AT IRAN CULTURAL CENTER, WITH PKB (CITY BOOK CORP.)

• The discussion meeting commenced with the introduction of delegation’s name and designation. PKB is wholly owned by Government of Malaysia organization, to complete all government and industry bookkeeping initiatives, especially those based on technology to ensure that all industry players remain viable and new readers continue to be born.
• Vision to be the most influential government-owned book organization in Southeast Asia. As His Excellency Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said, “Malaysia will strengthen bilateral relations in various fields with Iran for the mutual benefit of both nations.”.
•Last year at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2023, China was ‘country guest of honour (GHO’ while Sarawak was'state guest of honour’, the event has been launched by H.E. Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
• PKB is welcoming Iran to participate in Asian Right Fair (ARF) 2024 as well as the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2024. Even though a total of 969 exhibition booths have been sold out, PKB is promising a minimum of 4 booths will be accommodated for Iranian exhibitors.
•PKB has suggested to Iran to propose a nominee to be the ‘Ambassador of ARF strategic partners.
Mr. Saiedi and Dr. Arzani express their willingness to bring Iranian exhibitors to ARF 2024 and KLIBF 2024.
• For Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2024, Xiamen will be ‘Company Focus’ while Sabah was ‘be'state guest of honour’, The event most probably will be launched by H.E. Fadhlina Binti Sidek, the Minister of Education of Malaysia.
•PKB (City Book Corporation) committed to be a bridge to connect Southeast Asian book partners and to be a door to quality Asian works.
•Looking forward for receive an email from PKB for further necessary arrangements of the mutual cooperation.
