Quds from the Perspective of Imam Khomeini
On March 28, 2025, coinciding with the 27th of Ramadan 1446, the Cultural Consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nigeria, on the occasion of the International Quds Day, has made plans to familiarize people with the various events of the Holy Quds and the humanitarian and Islamic duties towards it. The main purpose of these programs is to promote public awareness about the history of Al-Quds and its importance in the Islamic world.

On March 28, 2025, coinciding with the 27th of Ramadan 1446, the Cultural Consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nigeria, on the occasion of the International Quds Day, has made plans to familiarize people with the various events of the Holy Quds and the humanitarian and Islamic duties towards it. The main purpose of these programs is to promote public awareness about the history of Al-Quds and its importance in the Islamic world.
In this regard, a meeting was held in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, with the participation of scholars, scientific and academic figures, religious centers and NGOs. With the aim of creating cohesion and solidarity between Muslims and people, the gathering discussed important issues related to Al-Quds and the need to support it, and emphasized the role of the people in implementing appropriate programs on this important day. Such events, especially in the current situation where the Islamic world is facing various challenges and threats, are of great importance in strengthening solidarity among Muslims and preserving the Palestinian causes.
The program was held in the form of lectures and questions and answers, and was simultaneously broadcast live through the social media Facebook, which allowed more people to access the topics raised.
Prof. Yahya Musa Kasa, Senior Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Maiduguri, in his lecture, addressed the topic of "International Quds Day from the Perspective of Imam Khomeini." Prof. Kasa explained how Imam Khomeini (RA) reminded the Muslims of the world of the importance of supporting the Palestinian people by declaring the last Friday of Ramadan as the International Quds Day, and introduced this action as one of the pillars of the struggle against Israeli oppression and aggression in Palestine They did.
Dr. A. Sanda, a physician and public health expert, examined the humanitarian and political dimensions of the Gaza crisis in the form of questions and answers, and gave a speech on "Al-Aqsa Storm and the reason for the cessation of the Gaza genocide." Analysing the health and humanitarian situation in Gaza and the challenges in the ceasefire efforts, Dr. Sanda stressed the need for greater support for the Palestinian people and global efforts to stop the violence.
As the closing speaker, Sheikh Mohammed A. Gana raised the topic of "Imam Khomeini's declaration of the last Friday of Ramadan as the International Quds Day" in the Kanwari language, one of the local languages of Nigeria. He explained the significance of this historic declaration of Imam Khomeini and explained how this decision called on the world to take action in support of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif and became a symbol of resistance in the country. It was equal to oppression and aggression.

In this regard, Mr. Kamrani, the Advisor of our country in Nigeria, announced that this program was not only held as a religious and cultural event, but also promoted awareness about the situation of Palestine and the importance of the International Quds Day among Muslims, and emphasized the need for global solidarity to support Palestine and condemn the actions of the Zionist regime. Holding such events demonstrates the determination of the Borno Shia community to support Palestinian rights and condemn oppression, and play an important role in raising public awareness and spreading the message of International Quds Day internationally.
This program was held in Maiduguri in cooperation with the Jafariya Institute in Maiduguri and the Cultural Consultation of our country in Nigeria, coinciding with the International Quds Day in the city of Maiduguri. This meeting was an important step in the direction of convergence and harmony with the Palestinian people and in support of their ideals against the Zionist regime.
