Holding a Quranic competition entitled:

What we learn from Surah Saafat

On January 21, 2025 (equivalent to the 21st of Ramadan 1446 AH), the Cultural Consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nigeria held a special competition focusing on the Holy Quran. This competition was held with the aim of strengthening Quranic diplomacy among Nigerian Muslims and creating a common atmosphere for the promotion of religious knowledge in this country.

This Quranic collection entitled "What We Learn from Surah Al-Safat" was prepared by the Cultural Consultation and uploaded to social networks. In order to evaluate the audience and those interested in Quranic activities, the Cultural Consultation designed and implemented 10 four-choice questions.

The questions were structured to present Quranic concepts and teachings in simple and understandable language, and to  motivate them to participate in these activities with the aim of attracting youth and adolescents.

After designing and arranging the competition, its information was made through social networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and other virtual platforms. This information was widely and simultaneously among cyberspace users,  and nearly 40,000 people interested in the Quran welcomed the program on social networks.

After receiving the  results, about 70 people from different cities in Nigeria participated in the competition, which shows the welcome of different states of Nigeria,  including Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Oyo, Abuja, Katsina, Ba Uchi, Borono, Plato, and Niger, respectively. These states  are  of particular importance due to their religious diversity and peaceful coexistence of Sunnis and Shiites. Holding such competitions can provide an opportunity to strengthen religious and cultural solidarity in these regions. In addition, the reception of youth and adolescents has been one of the prominent indicators of this competition.

The competition, which was scheduled for a week, was announced on the day of Eid al-Fitr. It is worth mentioning that 32 of the participants had answered all 10 questions correctly and 5 people were selected from among them by lottery.

In the end, the Cultural Advisor emphasized that the holding of the Quran Competition from the translation of Surah Al-Safat in cyberspace by the Cultural Consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nigeria is considered as an effective measure to strengthen cultural and religious diplomacy among the Muslims of Nigeria. This program, due to the wide presence and active participation of Muslims from different states of Nigeria, shows the interest and need to create an educational and cultural atmosphere in this country. Also, the use of The virtual platforms made more people benefit from this program and facilitated access to Quranic resources in this country.
