University of Mumbai Launches Specialized Online Certificate Courses in Numismatics and Reading of Persian Historical Documents: A Step Towards Preserving the Shared Written Heritage of Iran and India
India is home to one of the world's richest collections of Persian manuscripts, historical documents, and written heritage. For more than eight centuries, Persian served not only as the language of literature and culture but also as the official language of administration, governance, judiciary, commerce, diplomacy, and state affairs across large parts of the Indian subcontinent. Today, hundreds of thousands of royal decrees, endowment deeds, legal documents, administrative correspondence, inscriptions, seals, and historical coins preserved in India's libraries, museums, and archives are written in Persian, forming an integral part of the country's historical and civilizational legacy.

A delegation of cultural and literary activists from India, led by Mirza Anwar Baig Rai Bareilvi, Director of the Department of Islamic Literature of India affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (Mumbai Region), visited the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai on Wednesday, 23 June 2026 (3 Tir 1405).
Commemoration Day Ceremony of the Demise Anniversary of the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Held in Mumbai under the Title: Yaad e Imam e Rahil R.A (“In Memory of Imam Khomeini (RA)”)
As the anniversary of the passing of the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA), approached, and to commemorate the memory of the revered Imam and the martyrs of the imposed war, a special programme titled “In Memory of Imam Khomeini (RA)” was organized in Mumbai. Since this year the occasion coincided with Eid al-Ghadir, the programme was held a few days earlier on Sunday, 31 May 2026 (10 Khordad 1405) at the grand Qaiser Bagh Hall, Mumbai. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of Islamic scholars, intellectuals, cultural and social personalities, students, youth, members of the Shia community, and followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). The event was held in an atmosphere filled with spirituality, Islamic unity, and respect for religious and human values. In view of the large participation, necessary security and organizational arrangements were made in cooperation with local authorities.
Mega Education Fair 2026 Organized by Anfaal Foundation in Mumbai with Tribute to the Martyrs of Minab School
The Mega Education Fair 2026, organized by the Anfaal Foundation, was held on 18 April 2026 (29 Farvardin 1405) at Qaiser Bagh Hall, Dongri, Mumbai, with the participation of students, parents, teachers, and cultural personalities. The event continued from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and received an overwhelming response from the public. At the beginning of the exhibition, a special memorial stall was arranged in honour of the student martyrs of Shajare Tayyeba School, Minab. At this stall, the name and photograph of each martyr were placed inside a small school bag and presented to students. Upon receiving the memorial, students pledged to remember the martyr and continue their educational journey with dedication and commitment.

graduation ceremony of the Bachelor’s Degree students of Persian Language and Literature at Ismail Yusuf College, Mumbai, was held on 2 April 2026 (13 Farvardin 1405) in the presence of faculty members, students, and enthusiasts of the Persian language. The ceremony was conducted in a warm and academic atmosphere, with speeches and expressions of appreciation from professors for the achievements of the graduating students. During this academic session, five students of Persian Language and Literature successfully completed their Bachelor’s degree. Distinguished faculty members of the department, including Mr. Ashfaq Mortazavi and Ms. Shabnoor, along with other professors, attended the ceremony. They congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue their academic journey.

Sarallah Association in Mumbra, a suburb of Mumbai, organized a grand ceremony on the occasion of the Fajr Decade of the Islamic Revolution. The program was held on Friday, February 13, 2026 (24 Bahman 1404) after Friday prayers, featuring a speech by Hujjat ul Islam wal Muslimeen Maulana Syed Hussain Mehdi Hosseini. His words were warmly received by the faithful, and the atmosphere of the gathering was filled with faith, hope, and remembrance of the Ahl al Bayt (peace be upon them).

Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference Held in Mumbai on the Occasion of the 47th Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the 1500th Birth Anniversary of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH)
Simultaneously with the commemoration of the 47th Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the 1500th Anniversary of the Birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference was successfully organized in Bhiwandi, a suburb of Mumbai, as part of strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between Iran and India. The conference was jointly organized by the Bhiwandi Weavers’ Education Society and Samadiya College of Arts & Commerce, in collaboration with the Cultural House of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai. This scientific and cultural event was held at Yunus Samad Auditorium and witnessed the active participation of students, faculty members, scholars, and intellectuals.
