Inscribed as part of the “Persian Caravanserai” serial property on the UNESCO World Heritage List, it was far more than a roadside inn. It was a true fortified caravanserai, whose stone and brick walls bear witness to centuries of trade, travel, pilgrimage, and cultural exchange.
